There is a Heat Advisory in effect for Palm Beach County through Friday evening.
A heat advisory is issued if heat index values approach 105 or higher for at least 2 hours. If you plan to spend much time outside today, drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated, and avoid high-energy activities during the midday heat, if possible.
Expect a mostly sunny sky through lunchtime. There is an extreme UV index today too, so keep the sunscreen around because it only takes a few minutes to burn under these conditions.
The sea breeze will form this afternoon, triggering a few showers and thunderstorms around the Lake region and pushing towards the east coast through the evening. There is the threat of heavy rainfall and frequent lightning within storms today.
A few lingering storms this evening, then mainly clear, still muggy tonight, with lows in the 70s by Thursday morning.
We will remain hot and humid through the end of the week with the chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms through Friday.
Higher moisture will move across the state this weekend. This will increase our storm potential on both Saturday and Sunday and bring temperatures closer to normal for this time of the year.
Highs will return to the upper 80s, though still feel like the high 90s.
