NICEVILLE, Fla. (CBS12) — The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) said deputies tracked down two people suspected of stealing a Destin woman’s electric scooter.
The sheriff's office said a traffic stop was conducted on the pair on June 8, which revealed they were in a truck reported stolen out of Mississippi.
Inside the truck, deputies said they found items indicating the man and woman were tied to credit card fraud.
At this time, deputies say 44-year-old Joseph Middleton, Jr. and 34-year-old Kelly Patterson are charged with fraudulent use of credit cards. They’re also being held on a charge out of Mississippi for grand theft of a vehicle.
The investigation remains ongoing, more charges could be possible.
