Here are a few events happening in South Florida this weekend, Saturday April 22 and 23.

Healthcare and Science Stars of Tomorrow Career Symposium

In an effort to promote the STEM field, the symposium was created for students to come together with numerous healthcare professionals and academic institution representatives to explore career development through lectures and exhibits.

More than 600 students from more than 25 schools in Palm Beach, Okeechobee and Martin counties will be able to participate in the event.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in organized rotations and information sessions which would allow them to gain insight from professionals on pursuing a career in healthcare and the sciences.

Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Jupiter Family Autism Day

The city of Jupiter is holding its Jupiter Police Family Autism Day.

The free family-friendly event will include more than 40 local vendors, bounce houses, story time by the Palm Beach County Jupiter Library Branch, music therapy, sports fun, a petting zoo, airbrush tattoos, foot trucks, music by Royal DJ, sensory stations and more, the city says.

Families in attendance will also explore first responder vehicles ranging from motorcycles to ambulances in the Touch-A-Truck area.

Lantana Beach Cleanup

To celebrate Earth Day, the city of Lantana is holding a beach cleanup.

The event is kid friendly and open to everyone.

When: Saturday, April 22.

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

2023 St. Lucie Earth Day Festival

The city of St. Lucie will celebrate its 19th annual Earth Day festival.

The festival will highlight unique eco-art, sustainable living ideas and community resources.

According to organizers 70 local organizations and businesses will be showcased.

The event is kid-friendly, organizers say. Children can play in the nature playscape and musical forest, experience live animal encounters and stop by the eco-challenge tent.

When: Saturday, April 22

Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Oxbow Eco-Center, 5400 NE St. James Drive.
